Conchoraptor gracilis Saurischia Theropoda

Skeleton of Conchoraptor
Conchoraptor belongs to the Oviraptorosauria, which is closely related with birds and known to incubate eggs. Anteroposteriorly short skull of Oviraptorosauria possesses robust edentulous beak and crest, and resembles head of cassowary. However, Conchoraptor do not possess the crest and was exception among Oviraptorosauria. Conchoraptor means a "shell-fish eater", because the edentulous powerful beak of Conchoraptor was initially thought to be suited for breaking molluscan shells. Nevertheless, feeding behavior of Oviraptorosauria, including Conchoraptor, remains unknown.
