Deinonychus antirrhopus Saurischia Theropoda

Skeleton of Deinonychus
Deinonychus is a lightly built theropod dinosaur and has slender hind limbs with four toes. The second toe has a large, specialized raptorial claw, used as an offensive weapon. The joint of the claw with the toe allow a great range of the claw movement. The distal tail of the dinosaur was stiff by having long vertebral articular processes (zygapophyses), and the tail was used for balance.
