Dilophosaurus sinensis


This specimen was discoverd with a prosauropod, Yunnanosaurus, in 1987. Dilophosaurus is carnivorous and characterized by a pair of semicircular bony crests on either side of the skull. Although the function of the crests is not fully understood, they might have been used as sexual display. This dinosaur is also known from Arizona, USA.
