Ouranosaurus nigeriensis

Ouranosaurus is the only iguanodontid found in Africa. This dinosaur has an expanded snout, which is known in hadrosaurids; however, other characters suggest that Ouranosaurus is more primitive than hadrosaurids. The neural spines of dorsal vertebrae are elongated as in other dinosaurs (e.g., Spinosaurus and Acrocanthosaurus). A series of elongate dosal neural spines form a "sail", which might have been used for thermoregulation or visual identity.
