Heisen-ji Hakusan Shrine

Heisenji is a shrine influenced by the Hakusan belief, and was opened about 1,300 years ago by a Buddhist monk, 'Taicho'. The beautiful nature can be seen. The stone pavement approaching to the shrine is one of 100 selections of roads in Japan.

Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins

This place is a remain of a castle town where Mr.Asakura ruled the country in Echizen for over 103 years during the Age of Civil Wars. The special place of scenic beauty, the special historic site and the excavated articles are appointed to the national important cultural properties.

Tojinbo Cliffs

The viewpoint of Tojinbo is various rock surfaces created by coastal erosion. This is the only place where you can see columnar joints of the andesite in the Sea of Japan. The precipitous cliffs can be seen from the sea with a sightseeing boat.
25-minute drive from Kanazu IC of Hokuriku Expressway. / About 30 minutes by bus from JR Awara Onsen Station.
