呂君昌さんの突然の訃報に驚いております。
呂さんは、福井県立恐竜博物館の開館前から25年に渡る交流があり、博物館の建設や展示、勝山市での発掘調査など、多大なご協力をいただいてまいりました。また中国山西省や浙江省での発掘調査などでは特にご尽力いただいております。恐竜博物館では客員研究員として任命し、講演会などの普及活動にもご尽力いただきました。
恐竜や翼竜などの古生物に対する造詣は深く、数多くの研究論文を執筆され、アジアの恐竜研究のリーダーシップをとるものとして大いに期待されており、我々もまたこれからのますますの活躍を期待しておりました。
まだ若くして亡くなってしまったこと、大変残念です。
彼は本当に偉大な男でした。もう会えないかと思うととても寂しく思います。

We are very surprised and very sorry to hear sudden loss of Dr. Lü Junchang.
Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, Japan has long relationship with Dr. Lü for twenty five years. He helped us with museum construction, exhibits, research and excavation in Fukui. We are particularly grateful with his kind great effort during our excavations in Shanxi and Zhejiang provinces, China. He was our guest researcher and generously presented public lectures for our educational program.
He had profound knowledge of paleontology, especially in dinosaurs and pterosaurs, and published a large numbers of scientific papers in the field. We were very much looking forward to him taking a leadership in the dinosaur study of Asia as well as being even more active in his research in the future.
We deeply regret his passing at young age.
We are honored to have known him. He was truly a great person and we will all miss him.
